Recap: The Fosters 5x14: Scars & Review 5x15: Mother's Day

We didn't review 5x14 last week mainly because Jesus was not there.  But there were a couple of notable things that happened so I'll review those quickly and then we'll get to 5x15:

As seen above, Stef goes to the gynecologist, who tells her, as she does not have a history of anxiety or depression that she is likely in perimenopause which can cause anxiety.  She is given a mild sedative to treat it.  At this point, Stef still is not comfortable with going to therapy for her anxiety.

Review: 9-1-1 1x06 "Heartbreaker"

This week's episode of 9-1-1 unexpectedly had a bit of disability representation!

Alice Kina Diehl can be seen as EMD Stephanie Gaskins, whom 911 dispatcher Abby Clark requests specifically when her date, firefighter Buck  Buckley chokes at dinner and needs someone to talk her through an emergency tracheotomy.

It was very cool (as always) to see someone in a chair on a show we watch.  Even cooler?  Tara and I could tell immediately she has CP like us!  I loved seeing that Stephanie has a set of skills particular enough that a fellow dispatcher requested her specifically.

Unfortunately, I can't find the scene she's in but if you have OnDemand, it might be worth checking out this episode for a rare moment of positive disability representation.

Review: Law and Order SVU 19x13 'The Undiscovered Country"

"A man shouldn't do what he can, he should do what he must, without regard for consequence or repercussion.  That's what makes us moral."

This week's episode was one of the most awful things I have ever seen, and that's saying a lot.  (Especially as a longtime fan of SVU and of Rafael Barba, who has gone from my favorite character to the one I most despise.)

Video: Nike Flyease shoe review

As there is no Fosters review this week, I thought I'd share this video review of Nike's Flyease shoes, which I've been a fan of since I first tried them last summer.  We took this video just before Halloween, hence the pumpkin decorations.  (You can find a transcript in the video description on YouTube.)

This week was generally on the lighter side.  Tara and I will focus on Jesus but give overviews on Grace and Stef (otherwise we'd risk recapping the entire episode, and we just do not have the stamina for that LOL.)
